France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Quite light colour, light ruby with an almost orange rim. Fine and fragrant nose, with some floral notes, rose petals, red berries, raspberry, mulled spices. Feels almost like a Pinot Noir from a warmer climate. Palate is rather soft, light to medium-bodied in structure, it’s still slightly youthful, it has very fine, still present tannins, vivid youthful fruit; raspberry and red plum, fine spices. Good level of freshness there, and there’s some gentle hints of oak all along in terms of vanilla, some lighter roasted notes, but it never dominates, until a little bit on the finish. I would call this very attractive and juicy with soft fruit, nice juicy red fruit on the palate, for a relatively early drinking.
