France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Very dense colour here, purple-black core. Intense nose, very generous with high ripeness. Layers of dark fruit, with hints of cassis, blackberry. There is plum. There is mild spices, such as black pepper, with some clove. A gentle hint of roasted oak as well. Very good grip on the palate. Truly a full-bodied wine, with multi-layered spiciness. Beautiful purity of fruit with blackcurrant, plum flavours. Spiciness is more on the peppery side, with some hints of leather. A fine toastiness from the oak. There are some dried herbs as well, hint of anise seed and sage. The fruit is truly ripe but at the same time, nicely balanced by a fresh acidity. Really fine oak treatment. In terms of texture, it already feels rounded, with quite grainy tannin. Very long and succulent finish. Truly a wine that should develop much more dimension and complexity with the coming years. It already shows its quality and pleasure.
