France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Medium deep ruby-red colour, with a youthful purple hue. Very fine nose. Multi-layered, combining, red and dark fruit with a slight floral component. There is violet and a lot of mild spices like pepper, clove, some hints of liquorice. Quite discreet oakiness. High ripeness, but still quite layered. Very nice grip on the palate. It starts out quite discreetly, more within the medium body frame. It really expands on the palate. It certainly has very long finish. I like the elegance of the fruit here, combining red and dark berries with peppery, spicy notes. Everything is really discreet and well-balanced. Really fine oakiness all along. Balanced level of acidity and a tremendously long finish. This is truly a wine with a lot of potential, but I do find it pretty delicious already today.
