Portugal,
Dao,
Quite intense colour here. It is showing some evolution on the rim, but the core is still pretty much dark ruby-red. The nose has some evolution and some complexity. I would say more traditional style here. There are some balsamic notes. Hint of spiciness, with wood, tobacco and dried fruit. Really good grip on the palate. I think it appears a bit more youthful and fresh in terms of style, on the palate than on the nose. We had that development on the nose. Good grip as I said with a lot of crushed berries. Tobacco leaf, fine oak and a hint of complexity with fine spiciness. It is certainly more youthful on the palate as well. I would still consider this a vin de garder or a wine to put away for a few more years. Obviously, if you want to decant and drink with a quite rich dish, it should work well. Just a hint of tannin left on the finish, but it should be a good potential indeed.
