Spain,
Castilla y Leon,
Very dark and intense colour here, purple core. Dark ruby-red towards the rim, rather high viscosity in colour it appears. Intense and ripe on the nose. With good purity. A lot of primary fruit here, appearing very youthful with inky dark plum, with blackberry, cassis. A slight hint of oak but first and foremost a very fruity expression. Very intense on the palate. With a high concentration. High ripeness. But I must say very delicious fruit. It almost gives you the impression of fortified wine at first, almost port like. However, it is classically dry. There is no sweetness on the palate really. With finely grained tannin. Good deal of freshness underlining this wealth of delicious black fruit. Ripeness is high, but the flavor of alcohol is well-integrated. And a very long and powerful finish. Very modern style, really well-made. Drinks pretty well today actually. I would love this with a huge piece of meat after a few minutes in the decanter. But it should have the potential for quite many years for the cellar.
