France,
Bordeaux,
So time for spirits, and this one has gotten a quite deep golden colour, boarding amber. It is certainly a slightly peaty style but without any direct smokiness here. I feel generous oak here, quite sweet oak. With some hints of vanilla and a quite nutty character, nougat. Quite a good attack on the palate. Quite warm and ripe sensation. Well I shouldn’t say ripe, as we are talking about whisky not about wine in the end. That sensation of alcohol and warmth. I would call this quite personal style. Not really stereotype. So a lot of peatness but without the smoke. Fine wood there with nuttiness and dried fruit, some hints of leather. I will taste it again with a very tiny drop of water to see if it opens up. I still like it aromatically, I mean a very personal style of whisky I would say. Good nuance on the taste. Well-integrated oak. Alcohol is again, it feels on the higher side. It doesn’t disturb me on the taste. It is drinking pretty well. Really long and a powerful finish with some sweet oak, vanilla and those nutty notes.
