Austria,
Burgenland,
Very deep and intense colour here, purple-black core, colouring the glass. Intense nose here, high ripeness with a lot of cassis, dark plum and blackberry. Also with some roasted oak, a lot of vanilla, quite modern and opulent, suggesting high ripeness. Really powerful palate. Plenty of weight. Quite broad and opulent. Still very youthful though. It still has a high presence of tannin. Still very youthful tannin. There is a lot of generous oak as well. Roasted oak and vanilla. Then with layers of those dark berries. At present, I think it has more beginning than finish. It starts out with all that lush fruit, but still very much of a young wine. I would certainly like to put this back for at least two years because the oak needs to calm down and the tannin needs to calm down a little bit. It certainly has the structure, so it should certainly develop, but let’s come back to it.
