Austria,
Burgenland,
Very dense colour, opaque here with a blue-purple core, impenetrable. A lot of freshness on the nose here. Freshly squeezed dark berries, such as blackberry, plum, cassis, with some peppery notes. Hint of sweet spiciness, with some roasted flavours. Hint of smoke. Very high concentration here. However, I do not think it has any hard edges. It certainly has a lot of tannic presence, but I think this is something that will integrate quite soon. It does have a very good level of acidity. It does have that layers of beautiful dark fruit, with spicy elements, a lot of pepperiness. Long and lingering finish. No presence of oak. I think this is a quite natural concentration, not too much extraction. And even though this is a quite ripe style. I think the combination of tannin and acidity does not make the alcohol too noticeable. Wow, quite a big wine, I would love to come back to it. It should develop really nicely.
