Austria,
Burgenland,
Moderately deep colour here, ruby-red with a certain evolution. Rim getting paler. Fine nose, quite discreet at first, combining red and dark, red and blackcurrants. There is a slight herbal spiciness, with aromatic herbs, sage, some anise seed and dark plum. Not a lot of oak. Good grip on the palate. I think this stays within the medium-bodied frame, but it does have a good density of fruit. Still with a youthful tannic presence. I think it is quite reminiscent of Cabernet in terms of tannin and structure. I like the density and purity of fruit. Good level of acidity. Fresh and vibrant with moderate levels of oak. Gently roasted hints on the finish. Good length, certainly a wine with potential. I think this just needs some more time to open up, but it is a fine potential indeed.
