Spain,
Castilla y Leon,
Youthful appearance here, with a medium-deep, ruby-red colour. Still with a slight hint of blue, looking slightly youthful. The nose combines dark fruit with some roasted notes. There is a hint of vanilla, new oak, with plum, dark berries, some liquorice and anise seed. High concentration in this one. Quite high extraction, but I do think that it keeps together. It has a fine balance, although it is still fairly youthful. However, the oak is still a bit present with a high degree of toast. A lot of roasted flavours on the palate. It certainly has a good length, good extract, good purity of fruit. Attractive dark fruit. Only thing I am lacking right now is for the wood to integrate. So I would put back in the cellar for one to two years to shed the oak. Then it should open up nicely displaying more of that nice lushes and dark fruit.
