Spain,
Rioja,
Red wine with a medium deep ruby-red colour, indicating a certain age on the rim. Pure nose there, showing some evolution, some ageing in oak, with a slight hint of vanilla, mostly red fruity notes; such as plum, red cherry and some sweet spicy notes. The palate is quite full, indicating a good level of ripeness, there is plenty of stuff in there. It is mid-weight, but with good flavour intensity there, with notes of red currant, plum. Still quite youthful, in terms of texture, there is some tannic presence there. I would still prefer to keep this a little bit to round off those tannins. But it has a good combination of ripe fruit, with a nice level of freshness as well. Fresh acidity there. Quiet long finish, starting to show off some complexity in terms of spiciness.
