Accolade Wines – Flagstone Dark Horse – 2014

Dark and inky colour with a purple hue. Still youthful on the nose with some new wood, sweet dark fruit and a mild spiciness of clove and ginger. The palate shows more expression with a bold structure, well balanced in a concentrated style with pepper and liquorice notes and crushed dark berries. Nice fresh backbone, present but ripe tannin and a long fleshy finish. Still young but should soften from further ageing.
