Allee Bleue Wines – Pinotage – 2009

Very intense, dark, almost opaque colour; the nose is intense with plenty of spice, cedar wood, mint, tar, smoked herbs, coffee and dark berries; medium to full palate, slightly on the wild/spicy/rustic side with roasted coffee bean, wild herbs, pepper, smoked meat and dark berries - still with a tannic presence. Good length, still relatively restrained on the finish - would benefit from another year of ageing.
