Antica Fratta – Essence Brut – 2008

Bright light golden colour, still rather lively mousse, medium sized bubbles. Fine nose, good purity and aromas marrying yellow fruit, peach, ripe lemon with some autolytic notes of butter and almond paste, vinous style perhaps a dash of oak, the palate is quite broad, offering ripe fruit with spicy hints of ginger and liquorice root, still quit marked creaminess and a crisp acidity, long finish with generous fruit, a lush and creamy style with good maturity.
