Really dark purple, opaque colour. Very inviting nose with layers of dark ripe fruit, crushed berries, cassis, fine oak, tobacco and roasted coffee. The palate has a high concentration but good extraction with powdery tannin a fresh acidity and layers of spicy dark fruit. The finish has a good to very good length with modern dark fruit, fine toastiness and a layered spiciness. Certainly attractive now, surely potent for long cellaring as well.
