Spain,
Castilla y Leon,
Medium deep colour intensity here, still youthful with a purple-blue tinge. Generous nose with some oak influence. There is vanilla, slight hint of roasted wood, dark plum, cherry and red berries. The palate is quite bold and broad in terms of structure. Rounded and, I would say, quite opulent with sweet fruit here. We feel a quite high degree of ripeness and alcohol here. However, there is a good deal of acidity so it does not appear hot on the palate. I mean really broad and generous fruitiness here, with dark plum, fresh red berries. There are some spicy notes on the finish such as liquorice and anise seed. Medium towards long finish. Really a wine about generosity, opulence and layers of generous fruit. I would enjoy this in its first two or three years. It should develop, but I think it is already delivering what it should.
