Cafayate Valley

Argentina,
Cafayate Valley,
Colour is medium to deep ruby-red. With a slight evolution on the rim. Fine nose here. A slight hint of complexity. I find this having some earthy hints. A slight hint of truffle, in combination with sweet fruit such as cassis and plum. There is fine oak in the background. A slight touch of tobacco and leather. Slightly more Bordeaux style, if I may say so. Good grip on the palate. Full-bodied. Good weight, but with a quite high extract, but rounded and subtle. I think this is offering. It appears to be a fairly youthful wine, but I think it has gotten already a nice stability. There is a fresh acidity. Attractive fruit, with that crunchy cassis and plum with balanced tannin. Underlined by a fine oak. It has a good length. I like this digest quality of this one. It is quite big and intense wine, but it still offers a nice level of drinkability with balanced oak, balanced alcohol.
