Colchagua Valley

Chile,
Colchagua Valley,
Very dark colour here, bright, dark purple. The nose is pretty intense. Youthful, with an emphasis of dark fruit. Mainly cassis and dark plum. Then there is some vegetable notes, some herbs. Slightly herbal spiciness, like sage, anise seed, some red pepper as well. A slight hint of oak in the background. Quite a full palate. Good density here. Rather loose structure I would say. Fruit is dense, dark plum, cassis fruit. Spiced up with a little bit of that tea leaf, aromatic herbs. Slight pepperiness. A gentle hint of oak noticeable on the palate as well. Well integrated, balanced acidity. Still youthful, but with a quite pleasurable juicy, dark fruit. Rather long finish. A wine that should certainly develop well over the coming years.
