Spain,
Castilla y Leon,
Medium to deep ruby-red colour. Quite intense nose. Showing mostly, ripe fruit, with some floral hints of violet, lavender. With rather dark fruity notes, dark berries like plum and cassis. There is also some herbal floral notes; like lavender, bouquet garni and some new oak. Quite full palate. Mouth-filling and broad. At present appearing slightly austere, because there is a high level of tannin, there is a high extraction. A bit drying on the mid palate, particularly on the finish. However, it does have a long persistence. Attractive dark fruit, with a good spiciness. Well balanced in terms of acidity and oak. I would just call it a bit young. I would prefer to put it back in the cellar for two to three more years to round off those tannins.
