Villany

Hungary,
Villany,
Very dense colour here, starting to lose some of its colour at the rim, rather ruby at the rim, with a still dense core. The nose is quite ripe, I feel a lot of sun in this one, high ripeness; dark plum, mixed berries, some sweet spices like vanilla, there’s a hint of wood with some gently roasted notes. It’s a full-bodied wine, quite ample, still with rather youthful extract in terms of tannin. Oak is present but starts to integrate well, and predominantly it’s the fruit that emerges on the palate; layers of dark plum, crushed berries, and a lot of spices. Quite long finish, still with a slight tannic presence. Doubtlessly a wine with a good density, that should evolve well for another few years.
