Germany,
Wurttemberg,
Red wine with a medium towards deep ruby-red colour. Still nothing blue or purple in there, so a certain age. Quite an attractive nose here, combining red fruit and very Pinot style, but quite ripe red fruit. So raspberries, plum, ginger. But a nice softness, I think this is nicely underlined by some roasted oak. We have a dash of vanilla, something nicely roasted, with fine spices and sweet fruit character without being jammy I should say. Nice palate, it is soft subtle and rounded. I would talk about medium weight here, really fine extract, quite silky in terms of texture. Fine spiciness there with gentle hints of vanilla and cardamom. Juicy red fruit here, again ripe fruit, like ripe raspberry, ripe strawberry, but nothing jammy. It is a really good freshness, finely integrated oak. Medium weight as I said but good flavour intensity. Long and persistent finish. Very good drinkability and an approaching complexity and I still think this is a fairly young wine, but it has good layers and good harmony. Something I would happily drink.
